- ★ ★ ★ ★ ★Absolutely fantastic place to stop for a picnic on the way from Townsville to Cairns. You'd probably want to stay for longer - each time I come here, I never want to leave! Takes about half an hour drive from the turn-off on the main road and it is relatively easy to find following the signs. Nice easy drive, any vehicle should be able to come through. There are camping grounds with toilets and showers. If the water is warm enough you can go for a dip or a swim - there is a swimming hole there. Be careful though claiming those big rocks - we've been told by a local ranger that some people died there, slipping on the wet rocks, and now you are not allowed to claim the rocks next to the waterfall.By Yelyena Loza, October 06, 2016
